Recreational basketball is a sports program designed to be fun and educational for players of all skill levels.
General Information:
The season runs from December through February and consist of one practice night a week to develop fundamental skills and receive detailed instruction about the game; and on Saturday’s players will participate in a competitive match to put the skills they have learned to use. Players in the 10-11 and 12-15 age groups may travel and compete with surrounding counties. Players in the 3-5 age group play exclusively on Saturdays over a shortened 6-week schedule.
A practice schedule will be posted/emailed the week of November 23rd, with practices beginning the week of November 30th. The first round of games will take place on Saturday, January 9th. (Picture Day: TBD)
The registration fee is $80 per child ($35 for the 3-5 age group & $70 for the 6-7 age group) and each additional child after will receive a 7% sibling discount. Fee includes a team jersey, certified officials, and a participation medal.
*The 7% sibling discount does not apply to Tot Shot participants.

3-5 years old; Saturday Clinic
(45 minute clinic / 30 minutes of skill based drills followed by an unofficial scrimmage)

(8 minute quarters, broken down into two 4-minute periods / 5v5)

*We encourage all players to arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to both practices AND games.
Equipment:
Your child will be given their team jersey before their first scheduled game once registration is complete AND paid in full. You will be responsible for providing basketball shoes, shorts, and a water bottle for your child.
*Tot Shot participants will automatically receive a Youth Small athletic T-shirt.
Coaching:
We are always in need of volunteer coaches. So please consider making a difference in a child's life by letting us know if you, or someone you know, would be interested in becoming a volunteer basketball coach.
*During registration, you will have the opportunity to indicate whether you would like to volunteer as a coach.
Special Requests:
In order to submit a special request, email us at parksandrec@kwc.gov . We will keep a list of all requests made and do our best to accommodate those requests but cannot guarantee that they will be met. All requests must be submitted by November 19th in order to be considered.
*Team/Coach requests will not be considered.
Refunds:
In order to receive a refund, a request must be made by email (parksandrec@kwc.gov) prior to the ordering of jerseys. Refunds will not be given after the jersey order has been placed (24 hours after coach/team placement email).
