Blastball is a developmental, high-energy tee-ball alternative for children aged 3–5, designed to teach the basics of baseball/softball (hitting, throwing, catching, running, and fielding) in a fun and easy to understand environment.

Location:
King William Rec Park (Outfield of Field 1)
330 King William Park Rd - Aylett, Va 23009
Cost:
$35 (T-Shirt and End of Season Medal Included!)
*All participants will receive size Youth Small
Dates:
Every Tuesday from July 7th through August 11th, from 6:00–7:00 PM.
*Schedule and times are subject to change
Key Aspects of Blastball:
-Players per Team: Approx. 8
-How to Play: A batter is considered safe and “earns a run” if they reach the Blast Base before a defensive player fields the ball and yells “BLAST.” If a defensive player fields or catches the ball and yells “BLAST” before the batter reaches the Blast Base, the batter is out.
-Equipment: Uses a foam bat, foam ball, a “honking” base, and a tee. No gloves or helmets are required due to the soft equipment.
-Differences from T-Ball: It is faster-paced, uses just one base, and has no outs or scores, and emphasizes continuous action to keep young children engaged.
-Benefits: Develops basic motor skills, encourages teamwork, and introduces sportsmanship without competitive pressure.
Your child will be given their team t-shirt before their first scheduled game once registration is complete AND paid in full.
We are always in need of volunteer coaches. So please consider making a difference in a child's life by letting us know if you, or someone you know, would be interested in becoming a volunteer blastball coach.
In order to receive a refund, a request must be made by email (parksandrec@kwc.gov) prior to Tuesday, June 23rd.
