ABOUT
After-School Rec is a recreational program that strives to reinforce healthy behavior skills, positive attitudes, and study skills learned in school. In addition to homework assistance, the group will engage in reading time and a variety of recreational activities including arts & crafts, sports & games, field trips, special visitors and more. 

The After School Rec program will be held at Acquinton Elementary School (Cafeteria & Gym). A staff member will walk all children attending Cool Spring Primary School over to Acquinton for the program. The program runs from 3:00-6:00pm, Monday-Friday.  


Pricing and Supplies
The cost of the program is $60 a week for Full-time and $40 a week for Part-time (3 days a week).
Please Note: The weekly fee is already pro-rated for weeks when the program is closed for more than one day that week. (example: Thanksgiving break). Fees will be adjusted if closed for other circumstances such as inclement weather. 

Sibling Discounts: There will be a 7% Discount to any family that has more than 1 child enrolled in the program! 

Payments are to be made the Friday prior to the week of attendance or can be paid for on a monthly basis prior to the start of the month. 

Kids should pack a snack daily for snack time.

If school is closed...
The program will be held on early dismissal/staff development days (see calendar for detailed schedule). However, the program will not be held when schools are closed due to inclement weather. If school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, the After School REC program will resume at dismissal and parents will have one hour from the time of dismissal to pick up their child.


How to Register
Register online, visit our office, or call before coming to the program! Here is how you can submit payment:




  • Submit payment to JoAnn or James (a Supervisor of the program) weekly (on Fridays) or monthly.  Payment is for the upcoming week or month. 


  • Mail or drop off a check to the Parks and Rec office (7890 Richmond Tappahannock Highway - Aylett, VA 23009)


  • Pay online through your Parks and Rec account you used to register
