Registration Opens: Monday, June 22nd at 9:00AM[[[ AFTER-SCHOOL REC 2026-2027 ]]]General Information:The After-School REC program provides a fun, supportive environment where children can strengthen the healthy habits, positive attitudes, and study skills they've learned throughout the school day. Along with homework assistance, participants will enjoy daily reading time and a variety of engaging recreational activities, including arts and crafts, sports and games, field trips, special visitors, and more. The After-School REC program is held at Acquinton Elementary School in the cafeteria and gymnasium. Children attending Cool Spring Primary School will be safely escorted to Acquinton by program staff each afternoon. The program operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Please send a snack with your child each day for our afternoon snack time. Cost: Full-time (5 days/week): $60 per child Part-time (3 days/week): $40 per child A 7% sibling discount is applied for each additional child Payments are to be made the Friday prior to the week of attendance.Here is how you can submit payment:   -Pay online through your Parks and Recreation account used during registration.   -Payments may be made at the program by cash or check and submitted directly to a program supervisor.   -Checks may be mailed or dropped off at our Parks and Recreation office (180 Horse Landing Road - King William, VA 23086)Please Note: Full-time weekly fees are prorated in advance for weeks with scheduled closures, such as Thanksgiving Break. If the program must close for other reasons, including inclement weather, fees will be adjusted accordingly.If School is Closed: The program will NOT be held when schools are closed due to scheduled closures or inclement weather. However, if school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, the After-School REC program will resume at dismissal and parents will have one hour from the time of dismissal to pick up their child.Registration:Register online by using or creating an account, visit our office and staff can assist you with registration, or call us and we can complete the registration process over the phone.*Please make sure your child's grade level is selected and entered correctly.
