About Mah Jongg
A tile game of 136 tiles played with 4 people around a table. Tiles are shuffled, dice are cast, rituals begin involving the allocation of tiles, and then the exchange of tiles begins! Hands are determined by the National Mah Jongg League. The first person to match a hand of 14 tiles and thus call "MAH JONGG!" ends the game. Led by Tammy Garber. There are only 8 available spots to be able to take the instructional class that is held starting in March. You may register on the Parks and Recreation website to reserve your spot. There is a $25.00 fee to take the class due to the purchasing of supplies needed to get started! *Registration Opens: Monday, June 2nd at 9:00AM*AFTER SCHOOL REC 2025-2026ABOUT:After-School Rec is a recreational program that strives to reinforce healthy behavior skills, positive attitudes, and study skills learned in school. In addition to homework assistance, the group will engage in reading time and a variety of recreational activities including arts & crafts, sports & games, field trips, special visitors and more.
The After School Rec program will be held at Acquinton Elementary School (Cafeteria & Gym). A staff member will walk all children attending Cool Spring Primary School over to Acquinton for the program. The program runs from 3:00-6:00pm, Monday-Friday.
Pricing and Supplies:The cost of the program is $60 a week for Full-time and $40 a week for Part-time (3 days a week).
Please Note: The weekly fee is already pro-rated for weeks when the program is closed for more than one day that week. (example: Thanksgiving break). Fees will be adjusted if closed for other circumstances such as inclement weather. Sibling Discounts: There will be a 7% Discount to any family that has more than 1 child enrolled in the program!
Payments are to be made the Friday prior to the week of attendance or can be paid for on a monthly basis prior to the start of the month. Kids should pack a snack daily for snack time.

The program will be held on early dismissal (see calendar for detailed schedule). However, the program will not be held when schools are closed due to inclement weather. About Mah Jongg
A tile game of 136 tiles played with 4 people around a table. Tiles are shuffled, dice are cast, rituals begin involving the allocation of tiles, and then the exchange of tiles begins! Hands are determined by the National Mah Jongg League. The first person to match a hand of 14 tiles and thus call "MAH JONGG!" ends the game. Led by Tammy Garber. When and where?Club plays every Wednesday of each month from 1-4pm at the King William Community Center (7890 Richmond Tappahannock Highway Aylett, VA 23009)Want to join? There are only 8 available spots to be able to take the instructional class that is held starting in March. You may register on the Parks and Recreation website to reserve your spot. There is a $25.00 fee to take the class due to the purchasing of supplies needed to get started! *Registration Opens: Monday, June 2nd at 9:00AM*AFTER SCHOOL REC 2025-2026ABOUT:After-School Rec is a recreational program that strives to reinforce healthy behavior skills, positive attitudes, and study skills learned in school. In addition to homework assistance, the group will engage in reading time and a variety of recreational activities including arts & crafts, sports & games, field trips, special visitors and more.
The After School Rec program will be held at Acquinton Elementary School (Cafeteria & Gym). A staff member will walk all children attending Cool Spring Primary School over to Acquinton for the program. The program runs from 3:00-6:00pm, Monday-Friday.
Pricing and Supplies:The cost of the program is $60 a week for Full-time and $40 a week for Part-time (3 days a week).
Please Note: The weekly fee is already pro-rated for weeks when the program is closed for more than one day that week. (example: Thanksgiving break). Fees will be adjusted if closed for other circumstances such as inclement weather. Sibling Discounts: There will be a 7% Discount to any family that has more than 1 child enrolled in the program!
Payments are to be made the Friday prior to the week of attendance or can be paid for on a monthly basis prior to the start of the month. Kids should pack a snack daily for snack time.
If school is closed:
The program will be held on early dismissal (see calendar for detailed schedule). However, the program will not be held when schools are closed due to inclement weather. After School Rec 2025-2026 - After School Rec
*Registration Opens: Monday, June 2nd at 9:00AM*AFTER SCHOOL REC 2025-2026ABOUT:After-School Rec is a recreational program that strives to reinforce healthy behavior skills, positive attitudes, and study skills learned in school. In addition to homework assistance, the group will engage in reading time and a variety of recreational activities including arts & crafts, sports & games, field trips, special visitors and more.
The After School Rec program will be held at Acquinton Elementary School (Cafeteria & Gym). A staff member will walk all children attending Cool Spring Primary School over to Acquinton for the program. The program runs from 3:00-6:00pm, Monday-Friday.
Pricing and Supplies:The cost of the program is $60 a week for Full-time and $40 a week for Part-time (3 days a week).
Please Note: The weekly fee is already pro-rated for weeks when the program is closed for more than one day that week. (example: Thanksgiving break). Fees will be adjusted if closed for other circumstances such as inclement weather. Sibling Discounts: There will be a 7% Discount to any family that has more than 1 child enrolled in the program!
Payments are to be made the Friday prior to the week of attendance or can be paid for on a monthly basis prior to the start of the month. Kids should pack a snack daily for snack time.
If school is closed:
The program will be held on early dismissal (see calendar for detailed schedule). However, the program will not be held when schools are closed due to inclement weather. If school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, the After School REC program will resume at dismissal and parents will have one hour from the time of dismissal to pick up their child.How to Register:Register online, visit our office, or call before coming to the program! Registration Opens August 25th, 2025 TOT SHOTSAge Group: 3-5 (Age as of 1/1/26)About:Learn basic skills of basketball in 6 weeks taught through games, drills and relays. The clinic is designed to introduce your child to the sport of basketball in a safe and fun atmosphere. All participants will receive a Youth S T-shirt!Registration Deadline is December 14, 2025.Depending on the number of registrations, this program could be divided into two sessions: 8:00-8:45 am and 9:00-9:45 am.Parents will be notified after registration is closed. YOUTH BASKETBALL Registration Deadline is November 9, 2025Age Group: 6-15 (Age as of 1/1/26)Age Divisions: 6-7 Co-ed , 8-9 Co-ed, 10-11 Boys & Girls, 12-15 Boys & Girls.When? League runs from December through early March. Practices will be held one day per week beginning in December with games on Saturdays beginning in January. *Practice times are either 6-7:30 or 7:30-9:00pm*Special Request must be made by November 19th.
